The Felton is black full-grain leather with two ways in and one way it wears: hard, for years. A long-lasting Rubi zipper runs the entry, flat waxed cotton laces set the fit, and Army Track rubber lugs handle everything underfoot. Full-grain is the strongest cut of the hide and takes decades of flexing in stride. Goodyear welt construction stitches it to the deep-treaded lug outsole, keeping the boot resoleable. Hardwearing steel shanks brace the arch, cork-bed midsoles form to your feet with wear, and the interior runs a complete supple glove leather lining under Poron antimicrobial shock-absorbing insoles. The zip makes it the fastest serious boot in the rotation — on and off without renegotiating the fit — and the lug sole gives black jeans and heavy coats the anchor they want.
