The Flint takes the antique Old English shade — hand-finished full-grain leather, burnished and deep — and builds it for the worst months on the calendar: storm welt, anti-slip rubber, zipper entry. Storm welt construction seals the seam where upper meets sole, the traditional bulwark against standing water, and it keeps the boot resoleable for the duration. StormKing durable anti-slip rubber outsoles grip wet pavement. The long-lasting Rubi zipper gets you in and out without disturbing the fit held by long-lasting Kevlar blend laces. Hardwearing steel shanks brace the arch, cork-bed midsoles form to your feet, and the interior pairs a full supple glove leather lining with Poron antimicrobial shock-absorbing insoles. A rich brown that laughs at rain is a small luxury that pays out daily from October to April. The Flint is that luxury with a zipper.
