Noce Minerva is a Badalassi Carlo leather — walnut-brown, richly waxed in character, from one of Italy's storied tanneries — and the Gallatin gives it the full senior-artisan build. Stitchdown construction flares the upper outward and sews it down, the visibly overbuilt join that heritage boots are known by. Vibram Christy wedge outsoles ride below, cushioned and cream-toned. The insoles are Vachetta leather and form to your feet with wear, while the shank, heel counter and toe box all carry leather reinforcement. The box includes two sets of laces: a Kevlar blend for every day, and leather laces that can be cut to preferred length. Badalassi leather rewards attention — it deepens, burnishes and pulls light into the grain as it ages. Wear the Gallatin steadily and it will spend years paying you back.
